Hej

Hey guys, with the updated timing system I was intrigued to hear every ones thoughts on how to start each stage. With it as it is some go for a run up and swipe past on the move and others have a standing start. Is it worth introducing a starting line or position for each track to make sure every ones on the same page or am I over thinking a local race? I'm going to be there either way but its food for thought.

Hur dödsigt kommer rejset vara? Mvh fegisen :)

My approach to this is that you should stand still within ONE bikelength from the start control.

I believe that rules that can't be enforced should be avoided. Unless there will be referees standing at each start, with the right to give penalties, some people will probably do to much of a "rolling start". Causing debate.

So the best rule, that needs no enforcement, is probably that if it beeps you've started. Or we go back to the old pin in the hole ;-)

This is SBR, not World champs. There are also rules like "follow the trail", which is hard to control. But if we assume most people have a conscience they will do the right thing if it is clear what is expected of them. This can be helped by placing a log on the ground or similar but there will probably always be people around to see each others starts.

I like the one bike length rule, its more guidance than anything so every ones on the same page. If people don't follow it that's down to them, I'd like to think that nobody wants the 0.5 seconds to gain from a rolling start that bad that they would go for a long rolling start when everyone else is starting from standing.

Stoked for all three races!!
