When people come into the shop I always recommend tubeless, I tell them you can't beat it. I do tell them I run tubolitos and haven't had a puncture in 2 seasons. I sometimes run my tubes at 18psi. Thing is at 18psi you really should have an insert in at least the rear. The main reason I haven't ran tubeless is one advantage is weight, and I don't want to be cleaning it out and replacing it in so many bikes, working on bikes for work, I want to work on mine less and ride it more. I'm not one to just top up and top up. It's adding more and more rotating weight. These legs are lazy and I want every climbing advantage I can have.
Conclusion. If you can be bothered cleaning out your fluid at the end of the season, if your lucky enough to wear out your tire every season and start fresh every season. Tubeless is an awesome advantage. But if you are not running super low pressure or if an insert isn't needed. There are other options.
I was actually thinking to run a tubolito in my front as an inset isn't fitted. But there is no way I could handle looking at a metal valve in the rear and a bright orange one in the front... OCD? Probably...
Cheers ?
