Borlänge trails and bikers!?

Anybody biking in Borlänge?

I'm doing exhange studies in Högskolan Dalarna untill January 2008. I have my mountainbike here too. I would be very happy if some one in Borlänge would show me some local trails and places. I have little bit biked on the hills and there seems to be quite nice trails! I have used to ride up to 8hours at a time. So long rides are also ok for me...

In Falun we are quite many mountainbikers of different levels, if you can get here with your bike.

On sunday (2/9) between 11-14.00 the group I usually bike with have a demonstration day up at Lugnet in Falun, together with the other branches of Friluftsfrämjandet Falun. At 12 we ride off for a short demo ride, for about one hour. After 14 some of us will probably go out again for another ride.

Jen, do you have some specific place where you meet before rides? Lugnet seems to be quite big area on the map.

I biked some hours on Borlänge hills and damn, there is a lot of nice trails around! :)

If I´m lucky and not working you could go with me to Ludvika in my car på Onsdag. Om jag ska åka då vilket jag gärna vill. I can fetch you where you live at 17:20.

What trails do you prefear, singtracks- sand or stony, smal sand roads uphill or downhill?

West from Borlänge in the mountains there are sandy small roads, and stony paths (very stony).
North from Borlänge on both side of the big river Dalälven it´s fantasticks sandy singeltrails whith roots.
East from borlänge it´s all sorts of paths and trails in Bergebo. It is up on the hill behind the hospital. The name is Bergebo Motionscentral.
In Bergerbo i have permission from the Skiclub to bike on the electric light-path (på Svenska Elljuspår). So you can cycle there to. It´s not very fun but instead it´s very good training if you choose the trail "Kuperad bana"
1.5 km north from högskolan its very good short paths in Tjärna. Borlänge Cykelclub har en ttäningsbana som är 5 km där.

I can show you maps when we go to Ludvika.

I´m not sure i am i real Biker. In Sweden Bikers ridesd HD an have leather and not Lycra. Byt i think its leather in myc sadel so maybe i am an Biker anyway.

I'm living next to Hemköp in the corner of Tjärnavägen and Paradisvägen. If you are going to the Ludvika next wednesday(Onsdag) and if I fit in to your car please let me know! I think the Hemköp's Parking area would be good meeting point.

I like most small and challenging trails alot of stones, roots and other hard places to ride but everything is fine... I just couple of days ago visited to Bergebo - there was nice trails too. And I think I found the Borlänge CK's MTB-marked track close to Paradisvägen.

Hello I fetch you this Wednesday (på Onsdag) 5/9 at Hemköps parkingplace 17:20, I know the place. I come in an grey Toyota.

"small and challenging trails alot of stones, roots and other hard places" Thats in the mountain behind you. The staring place is on the right corner of the top of the the skihill "Plättbacken" 500 meters from you. From there it´s kilometers of trails like that.

We usually don't meet at Lugnet, but at the parking lot at the intersection between "stångtjärnsvägen" and "lövbergsvägen" in the northwestern corner of Falun. We have an emaillist though, that tells the location for our next ride. We ride on thursdays during the snow-free part of the year, sometimes also at weekends. E-mail me for more info.
