Canadian visiting Stockholm, looking to Ride!
Hi Happyride!

Firstly, I apologise for the english, but my Swedish is shit!

I will be in Stockholm from mid to end of June and would love to get out and ride some local trails. I have 2 issues 1. i wont have my bike with me, so i will need to rent some gear 2. i have no idea where to ride

I was hoping you guys could direct me to a shop where i could rent a decent bike from, i wont have a vehicle so i will likely be riding the bike to the trails. I was looking at trails on Trailforks and it seems the best place to ride is Hellåsgarden (i think that's what its called)??? Maybe you can also recommend the best trails in the area, i usually ride in the Alberta/BC rocky mountains so I am up for pretty much anything. If someone is interested in riding with me that would be cool too!

Tack så mycket!

Both Flottsbro and the weekly Tisdagsrajden is great tips.
Tisdagsrajden is a group ride running on it's eleventh year gathering all from 10 to well, almost a hundred riders every week. Just come by Hammarbybacken, the ski hill just south of Stockholm, at 18.30 at Tuesdays.
Next check out Vi som cyklar MTB i Stockholm at https://www.facebook.com/groups/MTBStockholm/ where over 5000 members discuss mountain biking and arrange rides.
Also, off course, Stockholms län at https://www.trailforks.com/region/stockholms-lan/

The previous tips here are good. I wish I knew more about bike rental options but at least I'm sure the Specialized concept store in Hammarby Sjöstad does it. Not sure about Sportson or Cykloteket but those may be worth a try.
You're more than welcome to join the group I ride with quite frequently in Hellas - post in the Facebook group Olle mentioned or PM me if you like.

Where in Stockholm will you stay? Will you have access to a car?

If your regular home trails are BC I guess you will find Stockholm extremely flat, but the riding in Hellas is still pretty good if you can live with the peddaling involved.

Flottsbro is a downhill bikepark with lift and 100 vertical meters but really good riding.

Hammarbybacken is about the same height as Flottabro and has also a lift, but not the same number of trails.

Cykloteket.se has a free test bike option if you contact them and ride on their Thursday 18.30 group ride from Hellasgården.

Specialized Concept Store (as mentioned) and fixmybike.se also have rental options and are close to Hellas.

Think it's pricey to rent for longer than a weekend but not sure.

Maybe some user here has a bike for a private deal if you give your height.
