Canyon Endurace sizing chart
Hi all,

I'm on the research for my next road bike and I incline towards Canyon Endurace 7. I'm a bit in doubt about the size and since I can't try it any feedback is welcome. I'm 177cm tall and my inner leg length is 82cm. With these measurements, Canyon suggests me size Small and although I have no reason to doubt it I was wondering if Medium would be a better fit.

I looked at the geometry table - which is very detailed - and the size is quite similar to my current bike. I feel it "correctly small" if you know what I mean, it feels more nimble.

With this in mind, anybody has any experience with Canyon bikes?

Thanks in advance.

P.S. Sorry for the english but my swedish is not that great :)

I'm no bike fitting expert, but both sizes would probably work since your only 2cm short from a medium according to Canyons table. You might need to change shorter/longer stem depending on your prefered riding position.

Dunno if this matters, but I’m running a size small of the Ultimate. 170 cm tall and 82 cm leg length. Comparing our bodies, you’re 7 cm taller than me on the upper body.

I’m sitting fine on mine, but how you sit is of course dependent on how nimble you are etc.

I’d recommend you taking a look at the stack/reach measurements of the two Endurace sizes, and compare that to your current ride. S/R is the “true size” of the bike so to speak.

If I'm not mistaken Canyon is known for recommending large bikes according to your hight/inseam length. I owned a Canyon Endurace size M and i'm 179 with a similar inseam as you have. I felt it was a little on the large side. (Although It did fit ok) If I'd buy that bike again I would have chosen small instead.

Hi! I recommend that you compare with Cannondale and Trek (or other brands offerings) to see what size they pick for your body height. For example: A quick check on Cannondale Synapse revealed that they recommend size 54 for 170-180 cm length, with tt length the same as Canyon Endurace in size M. (Reach differ by 7 mm but that’s only barely noticeable whilst standing and sprinting.)

That's funny cuz I have the totally different experience, with Canyon recommending the smaller sizes. I'm 172 with 79 inseam and run their XS on both Aeroad and Inflite. I could for sure run S as well, but prefer smaller frames for this type of bikes.

Measure your wing span with a tape measure and see what your ape index is; basically if your wingspan is greater than your body height it is a plus value (+1, +2 etc.), if the opposite it is a minus value. If plus value, then you should consider a size M, or if minus value, then perhaps size S is the right choice (even considering what Cannondale and Trek recommends).

I’m 172, with same inseam as you and +1 in ape index. I’m coming from a mountainbiking background so I’m biased towards longer reach numbers, take my suggestions with a grain of salt…
