Göteborg to Oslo by gravel
Hi all,
For 2024 and 2025 I created and led the Sweden tours for a UK gravel and holiday company called Glorious Gravel:
It's not my main job really, but it's a nice excuse to hang out with a bunch of interesting people and show them the very fine gravel we have here in Sweden.
For 2027, they would like to do a ladies tour and I've suggested a route that covers most of the distance between Göteborg and Oslo. We had a summer holiday in Ljungskile last year, and the area of quite lovely, and different enough to Småland to offer a new experience for the cyclists.
Is there anyone that might be able to help with route plotting in the area? Looking at 3 stages of 80-100km. I realise that the overall distance is longer, so we'd need to start north of Göteborg and finish south of Oslo.
I am also open to other ideas for something new in Sweden, but it needs to be fairly airport-adjacent, and they like the idea that their customers can do extra days in both cities at the start and the end, to add to the appeal.
Ultimately, we'd be looking for a local female guide as well to lead the tour.
There would be some payment involved, but like I said, I do this to try to raise the profile of Sweden as a cycling destination, and not for the money! There is almost no concept of Sweden as a holiday location in the UK, and that's something that should change.
Thank you in advance.
Jonathan
