2004-12-16 Att Grammisjuryns trappor inte går ända upp kan man lätt räkna ut. Att nominera Mattias Alkberg BD i kategorin Årets pop manlig är antingen korkat eller chauvinistiskt. Mattias Alkberg BD är en grupp. Hur det kan ha undgått någon är ett mysterium, speciellt om denne någon på fullaste allvar är beredd att dela ut ett pris till oss. Alternativet är att vi skulle vara en manlig grupp. Det är vi inte. Vi har inte specifikt manliga låtar, inte heller riktar vi oss till en specifikt manlig publik. Vi tycker till och med att musik som görs inom sådana parametrar är helt ointressant och kan dra åt helvete.

Det som irriterar oss, Mattias Alkberg BD, mest är ändå hur någon kan tro att vi skulle acceptera detta utan att reagera. I den musik vi gör finns ingenting som säger att vi skulle vilja ha med den imperialistiska industri som Grammisgalan representerar att göra. Vi är om något en reaktion mot den kultursynen, den som behandlar musik som en handelsvara, och artister och musikälskare som lallande idioter.

Vi förstår att vi är nominerade för att skänka något slags alibi till den här galan. Glöm det. Vi är inte intresserade. Har vi tilltalat någon i den här ruttna branschen som tycker att vi borde betala en massa pengar så att de kan klappa oss nedlåtande på huvet så ber vi om ursäkt. Det var inte meningen. Vi gjorde inte Tunaskolan för er. Vi gjorde den trots er. Vi gjorde den mer eller mindre mot er.

Kanske kan man tävla i musik, det är en annan diskussion, antagligen kan man det inte. Självklart är det roligt att bli uppskattad och om andra tycker det känns trevligt att bli nominerade så är det roligt för dem. Vi unnar vem som helst att bli glad över vad de nu kan tänkas bli glada av. Men blanda inte in oss. För vad det till syvende och sist handlar om är att vi känner oss aningen äcklade av det här. Vi vill inte ha med den världen att göra.

Vi avböjer den här nomineringen. Ni kan behålla er skit för er själva.
