SRAM X9 Rear Derailleur :-(

Anyone else have issues with the SRAM X9 rear derailleur?

My 2012 Cannondale Flash 1 came with it, and mine seems to never stay tuned. I have been back to the shop quite a few times now for adjustments. Aaarrggghh!

Any tips or do I just have to bite the bullet and upgrade to XO?

I would consider switching to XT, but I don't want to have to also pay for a new shifter or entirely new drive-train.

I struggle to see how that can be blamed on the derallieur. Sounds more like a cable issue, or that the mech or hanger is bent.

FWIW the x9 mechs I have had worked perfectly until destoyed by rocks.

Are u sure that the hanger isnt bent? i have the same derailleur and experienced simular issues...

My problems were solved with a new hanger :)

I wrecked my x9 and replaced it with an x7, can't even notice any difference....

but, first weeks after install the cable streches so it needs some tuning...

I've had the x9 derailleur for some two seasons now, and I have'nt had it adjusted once yet. Do not change the cable, since a new one would stretch itself also. Maybe tighten the one already on the bike. But as many above says, could be the hanger.

Like marrans my x9s have worked great until they were killed by rocks or branches. So I repeat the said tip, check the wire and hanger. If it's been back to the shop it's quite weird that they havent checked those.
