-For biking after a short-acting insulin dose, reduce the dose by 10-30% depending on the intensity of biking.
-Reduce meal doses of short-acting insulin by a greater amount (30-50%) for rides lasting over an hour.
-After especially prolonged or strenuous biking, reduce short-acting insulin for the following meal and evening doses of NPH or Lente by 10-30%.

-For short biking trips of less than 1 hour, make minimal increases in food intake, especially for early-morning activity or more than 3-4 hours after taking short-acting insulin.
-Supplement with 15-30 grams or less carbohydrate depending on the intensity of biking and the reductions in insulin. For rides lasting over an hour eat 15-30 grams of extra carbohydrate pe hour.

I huvudsak handlar det om att inte träna med mycket cirkulerande insulin i kroppen, så tar man humalog så är det bra att vänta i 3 timmar efter man tagit dosen. Och att man tillför kolhydrater med jämna mellanrum.
