Looking for info: Falun–Svartnäs–Rimsbo–Bollnäs gravel route (road bike-friendly?)

Hey everyone!
My name is Andrea — I’m part of the organization behind the NorthCape4000, an ultra-distance unsupported cycling adventure from Italy to Nordkapp.

In the 2024 edition, our route from Falun to Bollnäs followed a gravel variant through Svartnäs and Rimsbo. The surface was in great condition — very compact and super rideable, even on road bikes. It was one of the nicest stretches of the whole route!

Now we’re reviewing the route for 2025, and I’m trying to understand if that same section is still in good shape. Has anyone ridden it recently (spring/summer 2025)? Has any new gravel been added? Is it still compact and safe for road bikes?

We’re also looking into Road 50 as an alternative, but we’re unsure about the traffic — especially trucks. Would love to hear any thoughts on that too.

If you know the area or have ridden there recently, I’d really appreciate your insight.

The blue roads, where 50 is the one on the right, are the roads that should be used for heavy transports.

I am sorry but I have no info on the current state of the roads you are asking about
But I would like to inform you about a webpage listing swedish asphalt roads it also grades the roads suitability for bikeriding.
