Söker en tillräckligt galen partner för Glacier 360
Tja grabbar/tjejer!
Tyvärr så kommer jag skriva på engelska just för att det är mitt modersmål.
So here we go!
As some of you merry folk know, there's a race in Iceland called the Glacier 360 (http://www.glacier360.is/): 270km in 3 days.
I'm more than down to do this race, I just need a partner in crime to do it with (rules of the race).
Anyone game?
Here's a bit about myself:
I'm a motha' flippin' boss!
Or not. No, not quite at all. I was thinking of somebody else.
I work as an arborist (climb trees and cut them down from the top down) in New Zealand at the moment, but will be moving back home to Sveedala in either March or May (depends on the visa situation). When I was in Sweden last, I would be bike about 200-300km a week on my road bike (I biked in the winter, but then it was maybe only 160km a week), and some more on my mtb (but now where near that number). And I also biked from Stockholm to Turku in 11 days (using "bikepacking" methods/bags) averaging about 200km a day with gear (road bike as well sadly). I have a Canyon Nerve 26 in back home waiting for me (not sure if that will still be relevant for the race, might upgrade to either a 27.5 or 29).
I've moved around a fair bit, and travelled by myself for 3 years at one point, teaching me how to be quite social. I did my military service in Arvidsjaur (K4) as an Insats soldat (gruppchef), but was treated as a Jägare in some aspects. This made me learn how to just work my way through shitty situations, and just get the job done.
So as a summary:
I'm easy going, I always try to look at the bright side of situation.
I can put my head down and just get the job done.
I'm positive (but not overly positive that you want to punch me in the face).
And my humour is not PC at all, I will most likely say some very dark stuff, but never mean it. Why? Because it's life: we're in a shit storm of a world, and if you can't take it light heartily, then it's going to be long day.
Also, most importantly, I'm doing this for the experience, not doing it to get an amazing time.
Oh, I also love craft beer. But not IPA, I've tried a lot of different types, but still none that I like.
I'm in alright shape, but I will have to ante-up my mtb game once I get back home.
Who am I looking for?
Someone who will seriously do this (last minute backing out is a seriously dick move).
Someone who doesn't want to get an amazing time.
Someone who isn't pessimistic and always complaining (it will be 3 long hard days that we'll both be suffering through).
Someone who is down for some ad-fucking-venture!
If you want to talk about it, you can either add me on Facebook (www.facebook.com/ollie.olsson) or we can do a Skype chat. Or via this thread, whatevs!
Oh, and also, you can reply in Swedish. I'm verbally fluent in Swedish and sound Swedish (due to K4) so don't worry about communication :D
