The Netherlands to Nordkapp via Baltic countries and Sweden
Chapeau and hats off! A really impressive piece of work.
The way you seem to always stay positive and see the fun and beauty in things really impresses me. I suppose that really is one of the key ingredients into being able to pull off a multi-week tour. I hope I'll some day will have the guts, stamina and mental strength to do a long trip like that.
Since, as I understand it, you went up to the Nordkinn peninsula on your trip last year. Now that you've reached Nordkapp, how would you compare them? I guess Nordkapp has much more tourists since it is the more well-known one. In fact, this has always puzzled me a bit since Nordkapp, as you write on your blog, really is an island and not part of mainland Norway while Nordkinn is indeed part of the mainland. To the extent that a place could be interesting just because it is the farthest north/south/east/west/... you can go, it would seem more interesting to me to go as far north on the mainland as possible. Of course, with the opening of the tunnel you can argue that Nordkapp is the farthest north you can go by road in Europe and that it therefore is a place of interest. So, I guess my question is, do you think that Nordkapp is perhaps more beautiful or spectacular and that may be part of the reason why it is more well known or is it simply a "marketing effect" that it is the place where tourists tend to go (at least I have rarely heard of someone going to Nordkinn)?
