The Netherlands to Nordkapp via Baltic countries and Sweden

Nice editing, such a barren landscape, unknown scenery for most of us. Again you were very lucky with the weather :) I remember years when there were tourists freezing to death in the mountain ranges in July, and co-workers swearing that they would never again do trekking in the northern mountain ranges.

I know how lucky I was with the weather. I was up north last year, and had some pretty grim weather on the Nordkyn peninsula. This year it was just amazing there.
I did, however, have some (but not too much) bad weather this year. I didn't take any videos on those days, and they wouldn't have been worth looking at anyway. :-) My cycle from Havøysund south was in awful weather. A terrible headwind, rain, and FREEZING cold. It stayed pretty bad for another day, and then got better.

Hey, my cycling friends in the Swedish cycling forum.
Thanks for all your advice last year with my cycle trip to the North Cape (via Sweden) http://arctic-cycler.com/biking/eindhoven-nordkapp-kirkenes-2013/. It was also great to meet some of you.

I am really excited (and also quite scared) on what I am about to do. I will be giving up my job of 16 years, and cycling from Holland, where I now live, to my birthplace in Australia http://arctic-cycler.com/2014/01/07...-rehearsal-cycling-from-holland-to-australia/.
This time I won't be cycling through Sweden, but I will look back on my time in Sweden. That bike trip gave me the inspiration to embark on this more adventurous trip.. :-)

Hi all,
After a really great trip through Sweden last year on the way from Holland to the North Cape ( http://arctic-cycler.com/biking/eindhoven-nordkapp-kirkenes-2013/ ), I am cycling this year from Holland to Australia ( http://arctic-cycler.com/world-cycle-2014/ ).

I'll be meeting people. I will observe, and I will write. What are the sustainability issues people face across my path, and how do they deal with them? Who are the people? What are their stories? I will also support Green Pedals ( http://www.facebook.com/greenpedalsforschools ) to promote this dialogue, and use to realise sustainable infrastructure in selected schools on my route.
