Någon av er fantastiska cykelmekare som vet hur man demonterar vevpartiet på en M42:a? Behövs något särskilt verktyg? Jag råkade trampa av ena veven på vägen hem från gymmet (hehe...
) och behöver byta.
1. You can see instructions about BMX vevpartiet but only before the moment when masters try to remove cups with hammer.
2. Maybe vevpartiet looks similar to BMX, but there is important difference: M's cup is threaded, BMX is unthreaded.
3. So instead of hammer you will need to some 2-point rotating instrument. But after ~80 years it can be not so easy to unscrew it at home - I requested to do this bike workshop at Scheelegatan in Stockholm, they are familiar with such problem and have related instruments.
4. Instead of installation of classic vevparti I can recommend to install square taper: it is much more durable.
5. It requires:
a. Fauber BB adapter Model B (not A!) from Finland
b. Bottom bracket (BB) with Italian thread - not wider than 116mm. 110mm should be OK.
c. Loctite 638 (it is mentioned in instruction coming with BB adapter)
d. Some generic vevpartiet compatible with BB
e. Star with 46 teeth with vevpartiet-compatible BCD.
f. Pedals. It will be generic axle diameter instead of retro 1/2 tum.
