ROAM - The Movie

ROAM - The Movie
Since Jimbob started of in english...

I just watched the whole movie and some of the x-tra materials. Got it in the mail today. I'm sorry to say but...I'm not that impressed. Sure the guyes in the movie are quite fantastic. Espessially when Ryan Leach drops 1,5m and does a perfect 2-wheel landing, on a railway track! The fotage are great, given its a mtb movie. But, it's just one of these one by one 3-5 min stories when the stars are patrolling by. Frankly, The NVD6 has more action and the reb bull movies were more entertaining. Well, I suppose it's worth bying but a was expecting something new in terms of directing, and there were no...

The final verdict is still to come, when my kids will watch i tomorrow :-)

ROAM - The Movie
As Im watched it tonight as well, heres my wiew...

+ Great and creative fotage all through the movie...
+ Awesome big balls riding...
+ Location location location... wow!
+ Nice music or musac...
+ Really nice tempo...
+ Riders and personality get focused a lot...
+ Beautyful trails depicted in a way that makes you ache to go ride...
+ You get really (ahem) stoked to watch this flick...

And now over to the negatives...

- A bit to much "speed is king and makes everything look good"...
- Missing the really flowy feeling...
- To much pedaling in the "flow" scenes, would been better with just highspeed rolling instead...
- A bit to much "motocross attitude" tweaks and gapping in a similar manner...
- Was expecting more new and really creative angle and riding showed...
- Lacking the more slow and gritty-step-gnarly-slippery-slick creative lines and riding...
- Expected inovation in jumps and tricks...

So at the moment a bit disapointed but will watch it several more times and Im sure it will grow on me... But it is not as a big step in MTB-films as The Collective Im sad to say... But but but...

ROAM - The Movie
I'm waiting for our delivery to drop in today ( gratuitous advertising), but if it is half as good as The Collective it should be worth the money. The Collective is the ONLY bike movie I own, so it has a lot to live up to...

No Nordic Ride either? ;)

Edit:Ohhh, sorry!. I missed that this thread is in English. Anyway I think my thoughts where not that important to be translated…=)

Good but not great. To much focus on speed and air. I could have done without the NS riding as well, except for the part with the wallride between two ladders. Whished they had focused more on the singletrack and riding natural obstacles, like the wallride in Morocco and maybe the best of all the descent along a steep and narrow edge along a mountain wall in Moab

Vi fick filmen från Chainreactioncycles i går och tittade genast. Bildkvalitet och MTB på hög nivå- en superfin uppföljare till the Collective, kan varmt rekommenderas.

"ROAM is a mountain bike film that follows the travels of the world's top riders as they explore new places to ride and visit some of the notorious meccas of mountain biking"

Tjena!
